We were in the neighborhood so we stopped in at Federici's. We ordered a large cheese pizza with sausage. It's the famous thin crust pizza. Delicious! The service was great. Inside is old school. Cash only.
We were in the Freehold area and figured we would knock another well known pizza place off the list. We went around 4 on a Sunday. It wasn't busy when we got there since it was sort of an off time, but definitely more packed when we left. There is parking behind the building and free parking on Sunday evenings (maybe other times too, but we noticed for the time we were there). Walking in the back there is an area for pickup of takeout orders. If you walk straight ahead down the narrow hallway is up to the hostess station. We were seated right away. The restaurant is very long with different rooms. We were taking all the way to the back where the bar was. It definitely feels like you are stepping back in time in this restaurant. The menu is somewhat limited, which sometimes I prefer. We knew we were going to get pizza but was unsure of which kind. We grabbed a couple waters and some sodas and perused the menu a bit. I was thinking based on seeing other patrons pizzas, it would be similar to Vic's in Bradley Beach. We realized we are not HUGE fans of thin crust pizza but was still willing to try. We decided on the Vodka Sauce pizza. It came out pretty fast. It was HOT so we let it cool a bit. It was definitely thin crust. Crispy but not overly crispy. We are very happy we got it was the vodka sauce as it gave it a little dimension. It was good. Crispy, gooey enough cheese, and the right amount of sauce. Service was very good and was happy to try this place. We saw some of the other people's meals which also looked good! Next time we would try one of the Italian dishes.
Some of my friends wanted to try this place out bc of the Barstool guy so I tagged along. Plenty of parking outside, inside is old-school and a bit cramped. Cash only (but they have an ATM)! Menu is pretty big, with lots of options, and we liked everything we ordered. You really can't go wrong here! Between 6 people we got: Vodka Sauce Pizza (large): so creamy and delicious! My personal favorite. Super thin cracker-like crust piled high with sauce and cheese. Surprisingly it holds shape thanks to how crispy it is. Serving piping hot! Normal pie with sausage and mushroom (large): this was the table favorite- so much so they ordered another. Same crispy thin crust with tomato sauce instead of vodka. Mozzarella sticks: 4 to an order. Pretty average but crispy. Sauce is good. Appetizer sized fettuccine Alfredo: super creamy and buttery. Honestly slightly addictive. Good sized portion! Service is pretty good too, but the place gets crowded quickly. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're a fan of thin-crust pizza! Don't forget to bring cash!
Sensational. Cash only family run pizza joint. Lots of hustle and the super thin crust bar pizza is just about the best you can get! Full bar. Enjoy!
In the heart of downtown freehold, with patio dining to enjoy your bar pizza in the nice weather. If you like thin crust (bar pizza), this is a good one. Hot and fresh, paper thin with really good cheese and sauce. They have pasta there as well but its nothing special. Go with the pizza, you won't regret it. Bring cash, it's cash only.
We stopped in after running errands in the area. It's hard to believe we've never eaten here. It was Saturday night around 6pm. We were seated right away at a high top table. Service was friendly and quick. I had a meatball parm sandwich which at first looks small from faraway-like a 6 inch sub, but it came with 2 GIANT meatballs. I could not fit it in my mouth. It was delicious! The bread was crispy on outside and the cheese draped the meatballs. I might have liked a tad bit more sauce but it was a great sandwich. All for $9.99. Thank you! We will be back! PS. It's cash only, so come prepared
First I will start off with how impressed I was with how thin the pizza is like it's almost unbelievable since it's arguably thinner than a cracker. The pizza itself was good I have no complaints about it and if you like cheese pizza you'd like the pizza but it can get greasy. Federici's is cash only. The pizza isn't expensive at first glance but for the size you get you might consider it expensive. If you have an appetite you might need to order two pies since the pizza is so thin that it isn't filling. If I'm in the Freehold area I would stop by Federici's again and would get the pizza and try other items on the menu.
Easily the best thin crust pizza in the central Jersey area. My fiancé watched a Youtube pizza review that sang praises about Federici's, so we knew we had to try it. You can dine in or order pizza to-go from the window at the entrance. The crust is thin, crispy, and so satisfying to bite into! Although we love a classic pepperoni, the shrimp scampi pie definitely deserves an honorable mention. Their pizza is just so dang tasty! Also, they have a pizza truck that you can rent for parties, which is AWESOME!! Note that this is a cash only establishment, but there's an ATM outside for your convenience.
Went to Federicis last Saturday for lunch. Overall it was a 4 star experience. The food is a five. The decor inside is a 4 (it isn't nice inside but it goes with the theme of old school NJ pizzeria). The service was fine, nothing to write home about. But the price was a bit steep in my opinion for what you're getting. The pizza was great. But there was a slight inconsistency of how each other pies were cooked. For thin crust like feds you want it to be quite crispy. The one pie with sausage, olives and green peppers was certainly cooked but not as crispy as we'd like it to be. The sausage pie had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. And the plain pie was also cooked perfectly. We had four people and finished everything. Almost a pie a person and 3/4 people in our group don't eat in too much volume. Which shows how thin it truly is.
Hands down the BEST thin crusted pizza. I've had pizza in New York and Italy and I honestly think this spot was truly icing on the cake. I may have come in hungry this past weekend, but the quality of the thin crunchy crust and perfect ratio of the pizza and cheese, plus toppings was truly chef's kiss. We ordered a pie of the cheese, buffalo chicken, and a vodka pizza with sausage and peppers. I liked how we were able to try a variety. The person taking our order recommended the buffalo chicken and I highly recommend it as well. I also loved the vodka sauce one. But that's me in general going all out for the speciality toppings. My group of six wanted to order three and I tried to gently push for two pies thinking it would be too much. We ate it all and left one slice where I was able to bring it home and savor it the next day. Amazing pizza!!!!!!!!
